Registration is now open for Ovation West Performing Arts annual Summer Musical Theatre Camp. From “The Little Mermaid,” to “Shrek the Musical,” and “Footloose,” and more! In collaboration with Mountain Youth Musicals, this year promises more triple threat action as students learn and develop skills in singing, acting, and dancing while learning and crafting song selections from today’s most popular musicals. At the same time, kids will participate in a variety of skills-based theatrical workshops with industry professionals, and through choreography training. Each program culminates in a performance for parents!
In addition, for 7th-12th graders, for the first time we’re offering Tech Theatre and Stagecraft! Students will have the opportunity to learn about all things behind the scenes of a stage production including light board, sound, costume creation, set build, prop creation, make-up, and more. Plus kids will get to help manage and run the tech for the shows at the end of the week. Stagecraft participants will receive a certificate of completion that they can use to show drama teacher and theater groups for future job opportunities.
