Resilience1220 provides free counseling services to youth ages 12-20 in the mountain communities west of Denver. Through individual counseling, support groups and community outreach, we work to raise awareness of the social, emotional, and mental-health issues young adults face, and to provide the necessary life skills to create wellness and resiliency in their lives.

Shirene Agahi-Patterson (Antonia): After taking several years off to focus on balancing work and life as a high school choir and theatre teacher, Shirene is very excited to make her return to the world of performing by being a part of Ovation West’s production of Man of La Mancha (her dream show)! An enthusiastic educator and musician, Shirene has double degrees from the University of Colorado at Boulder (Sko Buffs!) in both Opera Performance and K-12 Music Education and has over twenty years of teaching experience. Credits include Nancy in Oliver!, Lalume in Kismet, and Laura in La Gioconda. She sends all of her love and gratitude to her wonderful friends (shoutout to South!) for making the trek to Evergreen, her mom for always supporting her dreams, and her incredibly supportive husband, Noah.
Patrick Brownson (Miguel de Cervantes/Don Quixote): Patrick is pleased to be making his debut with Ovation West as the Man of La Mancha! Patrick is a veteran of many stages across the Denver area. His previous credits include Amadeus (Antonio Salieri), La Vida es Sueño (Clarin) and The Pillowman (Tupolski) with 11 Minutes Theatre; The Noteworthy Life of Howard Barnes (VonSchwartzenheim; Henry Award nomination) with Forge Light Theatreworks; Putting It Together (Man 1), The Sound of Music (Franz) and Avenue Q (Brian) with Town Hall Arts Center; The Wizard of Oz (Professor Marvel/Oz) with Sasquatch Productions/PACE Center; School of Rock (Snake/Mr. Spencer/Mr. Noble) with Veritas Productions/PACE Center; Assassins (Sam Byck), Reefer Madness (The Lecturer), Evil Dead: The Musical (Demon Moose/Professor Knowby) and Company (Harry) with Equinox Theatre; Footloose(Lyle) and Anything Goes (Moonface Martin) with Performance Now Theatre; and Sordid Lives (Wardell) with Illumination Theatre, among many others. Brenda Berganza (The Housekeeper): Brenda is currently the choir and piano teacher at North High School in Denver, CO. She was most recently seen in Boulder’s Opera production of Sour Angelica as Osmina and a Lay Sister, and performing with the Colorado Symphony Chorus. Through her ensemble participation, Brenda has performed in several places in the world including the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Sagrada Familia Basilica in Barcelona Spain, and the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. In 2016, Brenda began performing with Opera Classica Europa, a private opera company based in Frankfurt, Germany, performing roles such as Frasquita in Bizet’s Carmen and the Zwei Knaben in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. She was also in the opera choruses to many Opera Classica productions including Verdi’s La Traviata and Nabucco, Puccini’s La Bohème, and Strauss’s Die Fledermaus. Ms. Berganza was the recipient of the Greeley Chorale Conducting Scholarship in 2017, where she debuted as a conductor, conducting the University of Northern Colorado’s Chamber choir on Palestrina’s “Sicut Cervus”. She then went on to conduct many other ensembles such as the Cherry Creek Chorale for a spring concert, and served as the chorus master for Opera Classica Europa from 2017- 2018. Brenda holds a B.M.E from the University of Northern Colorado and a M.M.E from the University of Colorado- Boulder. In her spare time, you can find her hiking, reading, or traveling.
Amy Condon (Aldonza): Amy is thrilled to join the cast of Man of La Mancha. Amy's diverse credits include Alice Bieneke in The Addams Family, Judy Bernley in 9 to 5, and Metta Larkin in Newsies. She has also portrayed Truvy in Steel Magnolias, Woman One in I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, and Felicity in The Original Dickens Carolers. Amy’s credits with Parker Arts include roles in The Wizard of Oz, Mary Poppins, and The Producers. She is excited to bring her passion and experience to the role of Aldonza and to share this powerful story with the audience.
Michelle Crowe (Fermina & Dance Ensemble): Michele is so excited to be performing in her first production with Ovation West! Having started acting at the age of five, her first role was Chip the Cup in Beauty and the Beast. Her favorite role she’s played is Adelaide in Guys and Dolls. Michele has been a licensed sonographer for 10 years. She is also a proud Marine Corps veteran, having served two tours overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan. Originally from Oklahoma, she loves to travel and can always be found at the gym or spending time with her husband and dog, Chesty. Michele would like to thank her husband, Spencer, for supporting her in pursuing her love of theatre again after so many years. Xoxo
Brian Dowling (The Duke/Dr. Carrasco, Juan): This is Brian's first show with Ovation West! So much thanks to Stephanie for the opportunity and support, Rob for his guidance and a big shoutout to all the production team for all you do. Brian was last seen at Center Stage in the Evergreen Players production of Nevermore: The Imaginary Life and Mysterious Death of Edgar Allen Poe. Some other recent roles include Pablo Picasso in Stagedoor's Picasso at the Lapin Agileand Third Side Theatre's debut show of The Legacy of Baker Street. A published playwright, you can see a new work by Brian in the upcoming Play Crawl event this October, produced by Funky Little Theater Co. in Colorado Springs. This November, don't miss as he and the original cast remount the critically acclaimed and crowd-beloved production of The Old Man and the Old Moon with Third Side Theatre! Trish Maggio (Maria): Trish has been active performing professionally since 1976 in both Colorado and Florida. Favorite roles include Nelly in South Pacific, Agnes in I Do, I Do!, Laurey in Oklahoma!, Guinevere in Camelot, Mama Rose in Gypsy, Maria in The Sound of Music, and Molly in The Unsinkable Molly Brown. She is glad to be back in Colorado with family and theatre buddies!
Dodge McCord (The Padre): Dodge is thrilled to return to Center Stage as the Padre in Man of La Mancha. This is Dodge's 14th stage performance at Center Stage (11th with Ovation West), and he was most recently seen here as the Steward in Into the Woods (Ovation West, 2023). He is an Ovation West Performing Arts board member and has been singing with the Evergreen Chorale since 2013. In his spare time, he is a keyboardist for the local band Snap, Crackle & Pop. He wishes to thank Stephanie, Rob, and all the members of this amazing cast for this opportunity. Enjoy the show!
Colin Roybal (Sancho): Colin is thrilled to join the cast of Man of La Mancha. Colin's previous credits include Man 2 (I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change), Betty (The Great American Trailer Park Musical), Nathan (ThrillMe), Paul (A Chorus Line), and Andy Lee (42nd Street), among others. Colin has worked in the Denver theatre community as an actor, director, choreographer, musical director, and designer for years. He is happy to be getting to share the stage once again in good company with such talented friends.
Alan Rubin (The Governor/The Innkeeper): Alan feels at home returning to Center Stage for Man of La Mancha, one of his favorite musicals! He has been in several Ovation West productions, including as Zoltan Karpathy in My Fair Lady, and The King (of course) in Hunchback of Notre Dame. He has also played Mr. Tinsworthy in the Evergreen Players production of 9 to 5, Friar Laurence in Romeo and Juliet for the Colorado Ballet, and as the Burgermeister in the Colorado Ballet Academy’s production of Coppelia. Daniel Sares (Pedro/Captain of the Inquisition): Ovation West brings Daniel Sares his first performance with the company and at Center Stage. Being cast as Pedro and Captain of the Inquisition he is ready to bring the antagonism to a great story. He has been performing for many years in a variety of mediums but he is excited to return to his roots in musical theatre. Returning from Cincinnati he worked with The Footlighters Theater and started his early work in voice overs. He has worked on stage and short films in Chicago during his enrollment at Columbia College Chicago studying Film Direction and Theater Performance. Daniel's most recent stage appearances in Colorado have been with Wheat Ridge Theater Company and the wonderful work of Paralando's New Musical Project. Since returning home, he is energized by new and old peers to continue this work and he eagerly hopes to see all of you, the patrons, at Man of La Mancha and many more shows to come!
Colleen Swift (Paco/The Barber & Dance Ensemble): Colleen is excited to be joining Ovation West Performing Arts for the second time! Colleen recently graduated with a BFA in Music Theatre from MSU Denver! Over the past year, she has also become certified in Stage Combat with Dueling Arts International, and she is incredibly honored to use her knowledge as Fight Captain for this show! Previous shows she’s loved working on include Pippin (Catherine), Servant of Two Masters (Pantalone), Xanadu (Hera & Andrew Sisters), and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Puck). Ammon Swofford (Anselmo): As ONE of “The Dream Shows” staged in the lush mountains of Jefferson County, Ammon is thrilled to be reunited with Amy Condon, and to be both debuting with Ovation West. They performed together in 9 TO 5 (Fall 2019), and with an original dance production Beyond the Threshold (Summer 2014). Ammon’s recent credits include Angelique in La Cage Aux Folles (Town Hall Arts Center) and The Mayor/Kandi, The Stripper in Rock of Ages (Front Range Theater Company), as drag artisté Alice Glamoure, of his self-company AM.SWOProductions. Select favorite credits include Mrs. George in Mean Gays: A Parody (Denver Element), Assistant Choreographer to Colin Roybal’s Direction of Be More Chill (Equinox) and The Sea Witch of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid- debuting in Drag on Lyra (Gravity Aerial Arts). “To A Far, Unattainable Sky” of Thank Yous to Stephanie, Robert, The Voisterous Cast & Crew for having me share this story too!
